For a budding videographer like me, I don’t want to fuss around with encoding issues when I want to publish my video. So, when CC Chapman told me about mDialog, I thought I’d give it a try.

With my handy Flip camera combined with Camtasia, I put together this 7 minute review of mDialog.

Here’s my first video from my very elegant Flip camera. Very easy to record, download and publish to my blog. The video is only a minute long.

Update: Ugh! There’s a slight delay between my voice and the image. Might be my connection as I’m using what’s equivalent to dial up here in the hotel. I’m uploading the clip in a m4v format and will replace the one above shortly.

Update: Okay, the m4v format solved the voice-to-mouth-movement ratio, but now, there’s a slight delay because the video is buffering. **sigh**

In today’s Metro News, award winning columnist Jill Andrews answered Bryan’s question about using the Internet to generate money. She suggested that he check out the Social Media Telesummit.

If you’d like to attend, I invite you to click on the green and yellow button on the top right that says Join Me At. Once the page refreshes, a pop up box will appear asking you to sign up for the preview sessions. Enter your first name and email so you can get the call in details.

The preview sessions give you a sneak peek of all the awesome content you will get at the Social Media Telesummit. Preview Call #5 – the very last preview session – will be held on Wednesday February 13, 2008 @ 1pm EST.

In this preview call, I answer your questions about the Telesummit. I invite you to attend. If you can’t attend live, the preview call will be recorded so you can replay it later on.

I hold these preview sessions so you can get to know who I am. You get familiar with my voice and my style and this should heighten your enthusiasm about this event. If you’re excited, you will then attend. If you do have any questions now about the Social Media Telesummit, leave them in the comments section below.

Video is hot and many entrepreneurs are using it to promote their products and services. Here are some great examples:

  • Milana Leshinsky, the pioneer of the Telesummit concept and one of the speakers at the Social Media Telesummit, is using video to help fill her high ticket virtual course called Coaching Millions.
  • Sherman Hu, another speaker at the Social Media Telesummit, is using video to encourage his audience to attend the Telesummit.
  • I’m using video posted to YouTube to promote my book, Podcasting for Profit. I produced this video without using a camera.

How can you use video to promote your products and services?

Yesterday evening, I had a chance to do my first video interview with Sherman Hu, one of the speakers at the Social Media Telesummit. That’s a video snapshot of me on the left.

Doing video and doing audio are 2 totally different beasts. With audio, all I need is a quiet environment, then I just plug in my microphone into my laptop, launch Audacity, then record away.

With video, I had to jump through really big hoops to get the look I wanted. Plus I had to design my studio without going broke. So, here’s how I put together my home video studio on a shoestring budget:

Seems like Coolplayer, the video plugin I’ve used for the past 8 months to post videos to my WordPress blog, no longer works. I deleted the plugin (which was version 9), installed version 9.3 and reactivated the plugin with no luck. Maybe it’s conflicting with another plugin, but I can’t tell and don’t want to waste time trying to figure this out.

Any suggestions on a WordPress plugin that I can use so I can continue to post videos to my blog? What are you using?
